LeRoy
Neiman has rightly been called the most popular
living artist in the United States. His bold, bright
colors and graceful compositions combine elements of
Abstract Expressionism, Fauvism and Social Realism.
Neiman captures the color, spectacle and excitement
of today’s sporting and social scenes. Like a
journalist reporting on people and society at work
and at play, he has portrayed the stars of sports
and entertainment, café society, casinos, stock
markets, beaches, sail boats, race cars, golf
courses and ball fields. He also lavishes loving
attention on the animal kingdom, from Kentucky
thoroughbreds to the lions of Africa. His work is in
the permanent collections of many museums including
the Baltimore Museum of Fine Art, The Minneapolis
Institute of Arts, the Museo de Bellas Artes in
Caracas, the Hermitage in Leningrad, and the Art
Institute of Chicago. |
